New NTS-PICO3 Update: Enhanced Components for Superior Performance

New NTS-PICO3 Update: Enhanced Components for Superior Performance

We are proud of our ongoing development of the NTS-PICO3, our compact NTP/PTP time server that has been a staple in telecommunications, energy, and critical infrastructure sectors. The latest update includes two significant component upgrades: a new Quectel antenna and the GT-100 module. These improvements are based on customer feedback and our commitment to innovation, ensuring even better precision and resilience in demanding environments.

    Key Updates:

    • New Quectel Antenna (YEGT000W8A): This advanced GNSS screw-mount antenna can be alternative to the previous model, offering superior performance with support for dual-band L1 + L5 frequencies (1164–1189MHz and 1559–1606MHz). It features a built-in low-noise amplifier (LNA) with 28±2dB gain, right-hand circular polarization (RHCP), low VSWR (<1.5), and high efficiency up to 48%. The antenna is compact (Φ 65mm x 45mm, 130.7g), IP67-rated for water and dust resistance, operates in extreme temperatures (-45°C to +85°C), and is UV-resistant (UL 746C f1) for long-term outdoor use. It supports broadband multi-GNSS systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BDS, QZSS, IRNSS).
      • Why Better Than the Previous Antenna? Compared to older single-band models, it provides better signal reception in challenging conditions (e.g., urban or obstructed environments), reduces multipath interference, and enables dual-band operation for higher accuracy. Unique features include robust durability and compatibility with modern timing modules, making it ideal for time synchronization applications where precision is critical.
      • Benefits for You: Improved GNSS reliability ensures stable time distribution even in GNSS-hostile settings, reducing downtime in critical infrastructure.
    • New GT-100 Module (from Furuno): This timing multi-GNSS receiver module supports concurrent L1 and L5 band reception, delivering exceptional robustness with timing stability under 4.5 ns (1σ). It features 62 tracking channels, advanced multipath mitigation, anti-jamming, anti-spoofing, and short-term holdover. Designed for high-stability applications, it mitigates ionospheric delays and maintains functionality on L1 alone if L5 is unavailable.
      • Benefits for the End Customer: For NTS-PICO3 users in critical infrastructure, this module enhances accuracy and stability. It provides superior performance in urban or jammed environments, reducing errors in time-sensitive operations and ensuring reliable synchronization without GNSS dependency. Compared to previous modules, it offers better resilience to interference, lower phase noise, and improved holdover for uninterrupted service.

This update represents a step toward even greater reliability – we’ve rigorously tested it internally to ensure smooth deployment. If you have any questions or need assistance with the installation, our support team is at your disposal!
